Safe School Climate Plan
The school community is informed about the new school climate legislation established under Connecticut General Statutes (C.G.S.) Sec. 10-222aa–Sec. 10-222jj. This legislation introduces vital components, including a new school climate policy, the appointment of a district-level school climate coordinator, school climate specialists at each school, and the formation of school climate committees.
Additionally, it mandates the implementation of a school climate survey, a climate improvement plan, tiered behavior responses, training requirements, and a restorative practices response policy.
Parents and guardians can find the names of the safe school climate committee members and a copy of their safe school climate plan on each school’s webpage. The district-level school climate coordinator is Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Mrs. Wendy Durand.
Thank you for the continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can positively impact our students' learning experiences.
