NAHS History
In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the NAHS program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The program supports members in their efforts to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, leadership and service and to bring art and art education to the attention of the school and community.
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible candidates must:
complete 1.5 credits in art maintaining a cumulative average of 85 or above.
MEMBERSHIP
In order to be inducted and maintain membership, participants must be actively involved by:
- attending 75% of weekly meetings
- completing a minimum of 15 hours of community service in the arts per year.
- participate in at least 1 fundraiser per year.
- Help hanging artwork and shows.
